About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ASD Support Assistant to join a flourishing school in the South East, specialising in supporting secondary students on the autism spectrum. This vital role involves providing tailored assistance within a specialist setting, facilitating positive social communication, effectively managing sensory needs, and ensuring equitable access to the curriculum for all pupils. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a profound difference, with flexible contract options available, including long-term, short-term, daily supply, and permanent positions, starting as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to secondary pupils on the autism spectrum.
* Implement strategies to enhance social communication and interaction skills.
* Proactively manage and respond to individual sensory needs, creating a supportive environment.
* Assist pupils in accessing and understanding the secondary curriculum across various subjects.
* Support the development of independent learning and life skills within the school setting.
* Collaborate effectively with teachers and other professionals to ensure holistic pupil progress.

About You
* Possess demonstrable experience working with secondary-aged students on the autism spectrum.
* Show a genuine understanding of the unique challenges and strengths of individuals with ASD.
* Exhibit exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience in a dynamic educational environment.
* Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to build rapport effectively.
* Be proactive, adaptable, and capable of responding calmly to varying pupil needs.
* Hold a steadfast commitment to promoting the well-being and academic success of every pupil.
