This vital role involves supporting secondary students on the autism spectrum within our specialist SEN setting. We are recruiting for various contract options, including long-term, short-term, daily supply, and permanent positions, with an immediate start available. You will be instrumental in fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for young people. This rewarding opportunity offers a daily rate between £90 and £115.
Key Responsibilities
* Facilitate effective social communication skills among students.
* Implement strategies to manage sensory needs and create a calming environment.
* Provide tailored support to help students access the secondary curriculum across various subjects.
* Assist with the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs).
* Collaborate closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure holistic student development.
* Promote independence and build confidence in students with ASD.
About You
* You possess a genuine passion for supporting young people with special educational needs.
* Previous experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum, particularly in a secondary setting, is highly desirable.
* You demonstrate exceptional patience, empathy, and understanding of diverse learning styles.
* An ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents is essential.
* You are proactive, adaptable, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
* A commitment to continuous professional development in SEN support is valued.
