A well-established school in Berkshire is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join their specialist secondary provision. This crucial role involves re-engaging disaffected learners and expertly managing complex behaviour within a supportive environment. You will be responsible for delivering a modified curriculum tailored to meet individual needs, fostering a positive and productive learning atmosphere. We are open to discussing various contract types, including long-term, daily supply, or permanent positions, offering a competitive daily rate of £150 to £250.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons within a specialist SEMH secondary setting.
* Implement effective strategies to re-engage learners who may have become disaffected with education.
* Proactively manage and de-escalate complex behaviours, maintaining a calm and structured classroom.
* Develop and adapt a modified curriculum to suit the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
* Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes student well-being and academic progress.
* Collaborate closely with colleagues and external professionals to support holistic student development.
About You
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and ideally possess experience working within an SEN setting.
* Demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
* Possess excellent behaviour management skills and a calm, resilient approach to challenges.
* Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal abilities to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
* Be adaptable and innovative in your teaching methods, committed to continuous professional development.
* Have a comprehensive understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to student welfare.
