A forward-thinking school in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teacher to join their supportive team. This specialist primary setting focuses on providing exceptional educational experiences for pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. The successful candidate will be instrumental in building therapeutic relationships, effectively managing challenging behaviours, and delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons tailored to individual learning styles. We are open to discussing various contract types, including long-term, daily supply, or permanent opportunities, with an immediate start available.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver highly engaging, differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum.
* Cultivate strong, positive therapeutic relationships with pupils to foster their emotional well-being and academic progress.
* Implement effective strategies for managing challenging behaviour in a supportive and consistent manner.
* Assess pupil progress regularly and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
* Collaborate effectively with support staff and external agencies to ensure holistic pupil development.
* Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all pupils.
About You
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and possess a strong understanding of primary education.
* Demonstrate proven experience working with pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ideally within a specialist setting or PRU.
* Exhibit exceptional resilience, patience, and a nurturing approach to support vulnerable learners.
* Possess excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively.
* Be committed to continuous professional development and contributing positively to a team ethos.
* Show an ability to inspire and motivate pupils, fostering a love for learning despite individual barriers.
