A forward-thinking school is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary setting, offering crucial support to children with diverse and complex learning needs. This challenging yet immensely rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), working both one-to-one and within small group interventions. You will play a pivotal part in fostering an inclusive environment where every child can thrive, assisting those with conditions such as ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties. We are open to discussing various contract options, including long-term, daily supply, short-term, or permanent positions, with an immediate start available. A competitive daily rate of £90-£115 is offered for this impactful opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support to primary-aged pupils with complex learning needs.
* Implement individualised learning plans and strategies effectively, guided by class teachers and SENCOs.
* Assist pupils in achieving their personal and academic targets as outlined in their Education, Health and Care Plans.
* Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment that encourages independence and engagement.
* Adapt learning materials and activities to cater to specific needs, including those related to ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
* Collaborate closely with teaching staff and other professionals to monitor pupil progress and well-being.
About You
* Possess demonstrable experience working with primary-aged children with Special Educational Needs, particularly complex learning difficulties.
* Have a genuine passion for supporting the educational and personal development of pupils with conditions such as ASD, ADHD, or speech and language challenges.
* Exhibit exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience when facing diverse and challenging situations.
* Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with children, colleagues, and parents.
* Show initiative and adaptability, readily adjusting approaches to meet evolving pupil needs.
* Hold relevant qualifications or professional development in SEN support, or a commitment to undertaking further training.
