A thriving school is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide tailored assistance to a secondary pupil with complex needs. This vital role involves meticulously following EHCP targets, ensuring comprehensive access to the curriculum, and actively promoting the development of independence and essential life skills. We are open to discussing various contract types, including long-term, daily supply, and permanent positions, with an immediate start available. The remuneration for this impactful role is between £85 and £110 per day.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated, one-to-one support to a secondary pupil with complex special educational needs.
* Implement and monitor individualised educational healthcare plan (EHCP) targets effectively.
* Facilitate the pupil's full access to the secondary curriculum across various subjects.
* Actively foster and encourage the development of the pupil's independence.
* Support the pupil in acquiring and practising essential life skills for their future.
* Collaborate closely with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure holistic support.
About You
* You possess demonstrable experience working with secondary-aged pupils with special educational needs.
* A solid understanding of EHCPs and their practical application is essential.
* You are patient, empathetic, and possess a strong ability to build rapport with young people.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are a key strength.
