Key Responsibilities
* Facilitate effective social communication and interaction among students.
* Implement strategies to manage sensory needs and create a calming learning environment.
* Provide tailored support to ensure students can access the curriculum successfully.
* Assist teachers in preparing resources and adapting materials for individual learning styles.
* Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teaching staff.
* Encourage the development of independence and self-advocacy skills in young people.
About You
* Possess a genuine passion for supporting secondary students with Special Educational Needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum.
* Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong rapport with students, staff, and families.
* Exhibit patience, empathy, and resilience when facing diverse learning challenges.
* Be proactive and adaptable, ready to respond effectively to individual student requirements.
* Hold relevant experience in an SEN support role, ideally within a secondary school environment.
* Have a strong understanding of strategies to support social, emotional, and sensory development.
