SEMH Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEMH Teacher for a well-established school in the Aylesbury area of Buckinghamshire, specialising in supporting primary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. This rewarding opportunity involves building strong therapeutic relationships, effectively managing challenging behaviour, and consistently delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning styles. We offer flexible contract options including long-term placements, daily supply, and permanent roles, with a competitive daily rate ranging from £150 to £250, for an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver a broad and balanced primary curriculum that is engaging and accessible for all pupils.
* Implement bespoke therapeutic and behavioural support strategies within the classroom.
* Cultivate a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment conducive to positive emotional development.
* Build strong rapport and positive relationships with all pupils, fostering trust and engagement.
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and multi-disciplinary teams to provide holistic support.
* Monitor and record pupil progress, adjusting interventions and teaching methods as required.
About You
* You possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
* You have demonstrable experience working with primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs, ideally within a specialist setting or PRU.
* You are adept at managing challenging behaviours with empathy, consistency, and a proactive approach.
* You are an excellent communicator, able to engage effectively with pupils, staff, and parents.
* You are resilient, patient, and committed to making a significant difference in children's lives.
* Applications are welcomed from Early Career Teachers (ECTs), as well as those on the Main Pay Scale (MPS) and Upper Pay Scale (UPS).
