A dynamic school is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide crucial, individualised support within its primary phase. This vital role focuses on supporting a pupil with complex needs, which may include Autism Spectrum Disorder, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, or sensory impairments. You will be instrumental in building rapport, meticulously implementing Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets, and working collaboratively with specialist therapists. We offer flexible contract options, including long-term, daily supply, or permanent arrangements, with a competitive daily rate ranging from £85 to £110, starting as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver consistent and tailored 1:1 support to a primary pupil.
* Facilitate the learning and development of a child with complex Special Educational Needs.
* Establish and nurture a strong, positive relationship with the pupil.
* Diligently implement all specified EHCP targets and strategies.
* Liaise proactively with occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and other specialists.
* Contribute to a stimulating and inclusive educational environment for the pupil.
About You
* Proven experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, particularly complex needs.
* A profound understanding of needs such as ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairment.
* Exceptional ability to communicate clearly and build rapport with pupils, staff, and parents.
* Demonstrable patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
* Proactive and resourceful, with a commitment to continuous professional growth.
* Capable of working independently while valuing teamwork within a school setting.
