We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a forward-thinking school, providing essential support to primary pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs within a specialist setting. This is a crucial role for an immediate start, offering various contract options including long-term, short-term, daily supply, or even a permanent position, with a competitive daily rate of £95 - £120. You will be instrumental in fostering a positive and nurturing environment where every child can thrive academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support to primary pupils with SEMH requirements.
* Implement effective de-escalation strategies to manage challenging behaviours calmly and professionally.
* Mentor pupils, helping them develop coping mechanisms and improve self-regulation skills.
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, acting as a consistent and positive role model.
* Assist in the delivery of engaging learning activities, adapting resources to meet individual needs.
* Collaborate closely with class teachers and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to pupil welfare.

* You possess demonstrable experience supporting children or young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
* An empathetic and patient approach is central to your interaction with pupils.
* You are skilled in effective communication, capable of engaging positively with pupils, staff, and parents.
