SEN Teaching Assistant

A respected school in the Aylesbury area is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide vital support to primary-aged pupils. This fulfilling role involves working both 1:1 and in small groups with children who have complex learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and speech and language difficulties. You will play a crucial part in assisting pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to achieve their full potential within a specialist primary setting. We are considering candidates for a range of contract types, including long-term, daily supply, short-term, or permanent positions, with an immediate start available and a competitive daily rate of £90 - £115.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support to primary pupils with special educational needs.
* Implement individualised learning plans and strategies for children with EHCPs.
* Assist pupils experiencing complex needs, including ASD, ADHD, and communication challenges.
* Contribute to creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment for all students.
* Collaborate effectively with class teachers and therapists to support pupil development.
* Observe and report on pupil progress, adapting support as required.
About You
* You possess demonstrable experience supporting children with special educational needs, ideally within a primary setting.
* You show a strong understanding of various complex learning needs, such as ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
* Your approach is patient, compassionate, and highly resilient in challenging situations.
* You are adept at building rapport with children and fostering positive relationships.
* You communicate clearly and effectively with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
* You hold a genuine commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all young people.
