About the Role
A respected school is seeking a dedicated ASD Support Assistant to join their nurturing team, providing essential support to secondary students on the autism spectrum. This pivotal role involves facilitating social communication, adeptly managing sensory needs, and ensuring full curriculum access within a specialist SEN environment. You will contribute significantly to creating an inclusive and empowering learning journey for every student you support.

Key Responsibilities
* Facilitate effective social communication strategies tailored to individual student needs.
* Proactively manage sensory environments to ensure a calm and focused learning space.
* Support students in accessing the secondary curriculum across various subjects.
* Implement personalised learning plans and contribute to their ongoing development.
* Collaborate closely with teaching staff and other professionals to foster student progress.
* Promote independence and build confidence in students within the school community.

About You
* You possess demonstrable experience supporting secondary-aged students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
* You exhibit a deep understanding of diverse communication styles and sensory profiles.
* Your approach is patient, empathetic, and consistently professional.
* You are proactive in identifying and implementing effective support strategies.
* You demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* You are committed to continuous professional development and personal growth.
