About the Role
A dynamic school is seeking a compassionate and proactive 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide dedicated assistance to a secondary pupil. This crucial long-term role involves working closely with a young person who has complex needs, ensuring they receive tailored support to access their education effectively. You will be instrumental in fostering their academic progress, personal growth, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver dedicated, individualised support to a secondary pupil with complex special educational needs.
* Implement and meticulously follow specific targets outlined within the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
* Facilitate the pupil's engagement with the curriculum across various subjects and learning activities.
* Actively promote and develop the pupil's independence in both academic and social settings.
* Support the acquisition and refinement of essential life skills to empower future success.
* Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure a cohesive support strategy.

About You
* Possess demonstrable experience working with young people with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with complex requirements.
* Exhibit a genuine passion for supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
* Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building positive rapport with pupils, staff, and parents.
* Show a proactive and adaptable approach, capable of responding effectively to diverse learning situations.
* Maintain a patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude, consistently championing the pupil’s best interests.
* Hold a relevant qualification or training in supporting pupils with SEN (desirable but not essential if experience is strong).
