Key Responsibilities
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons that cater to a diverse range of abilities across the secondary curriculum.
• Assess pupil progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement and achievement.
• Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where all pupils feel valued and motivated to learn.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of the English department's curriculum and schemes of work.
• Participate actively in departmental meetings, school events, and extracurricular activities to enhance the broader pupil experience.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and carers to ensure the holistic well-being and academic success of every pupil.
About You
• Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong academic background in English or a related discipline.
• Demonstrate a genuine passion for teaching English and the ability to inspire a love of learning in young people.
• Have experience teaching the secondary English curriculum, or be an enthusiastic ECT eager to apply your skills in a new role.
• Exhibit excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
• Show a commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
• Be a proactive team player with a positive attitude and a dedication to achieving high standards.
