We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teacher to join a progressive school in the West Midlands, specialising in primary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. This fulfilling role involves crafting and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual learning styles while nurturing therapeutic relationships within a supportive environment. You will play a pivotal role in managing challenging behaviours through positive and proactive strategies, contributing significantly to pupil progress and well-being. We offer flexible contract options, including long-term supply, daily supply, and permanent positions, with competitive daily rates ranging from £150 to £250, starting as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver dynamic and differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum for pupils with SEMH.
* Cultivate a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom atmosphere where every child feels valued.
* Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) that address specific learning and behavioural targets.
* Apply effective and consistent behaviour management techniques, promoting positive choices and self-regulation.
* Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic pupil support.
* Assess and monitor pupil achievement rigorously, providing insightful feedback to inform future planning.
About You
* You must possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and demonstrate a strong commitment to SEND education.
* Proven experience working effectively with primary-aged pupils exhibiting SEMH needs is essential.
* A compassionate and empathetic approach to understanding and responding to complex behaviours is highly valued.
* Your classroom management skills should be exceptional, utilising a range of proactive and restorative strategies.
* You will be an excellent communicator, capable of building rapport with pupils, colleagues, and families.
* A commitment to your own professional growth and continuous learning in the field of SEMH is expected.
