We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to join a dynamic primary school in East London, offering tailored assistance to a pupil requiring specialised support. This vital role involves supporting a child with ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairment, fostering their development within a nurturing environment. Commencing as soon as possible, this position offers flexible contract options, including long-term, daily supply, or permanent arrangements, with a competitive daily rate of £85 to £110.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a primary pupil with complex Special Educational Needs.
* Cultivate a strong, trusting rapport with the pupil to enhance their learning experience.
* Effectively implement and monitor Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
* Collaborate closely with external therapists and specialists to integrate therapeutic strategies.
* Foster the pupil's independence and personal growth throughout the school day.
* Create an inclusive and supportive environment tailored to the pupil's individual requirements.
About You
* Possess demonstrable experience supporting children with complex needs, including ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairment.
* Exhibit exceptional communication skills, building effective relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
* Have a solid understanding of EHCPs and their practical implementation within a school setting.
* Demonstrate a proactive and collaborative approach when working with multidisciplinary teams.
* Show genuine patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
