A dedicated school is seeking a compassionate and proactive 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to join their team, providing crucial assistance to a secondary pupil with complex needs. We are looking for individuals available for a range of contract types, including long-term placements, daily supply, or permanent positions, with an immediate start preferred. This fulfilling opportunity offers a competitive daily rate ranging from £85 to £110, reflecting the significant impact you will make.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated and consistent 1:1 support to a secondary pupil with complex special educational needs.
* Implement and regularly review objectives outlined in the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
* Facilitate the pupil’s engagement with the curriculum, adapting materials and strategies as required.
* Champion the development of crucial independence and life skills within the school environment.
* Communicate effectively with teaching staff, the SENCo, and other professionals regarding pupil progress and needs.
* Maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment tailored to individual requirements.
About You
* Demonstrable experience supporting children or young people with complex special educational needs.
* A clear understanding of EHCPs and their practical implementation within an educational setting.
* Possess exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience to support a pupil's unique journey.
* Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport and collaborate effectively.
* Proactive in identifying and addressing learning barriers, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
