We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to join a supportive school in North London. This vital role involves providing tailored assistance to a secondary pupil with complex special educational needs, fostering their academic and personal development. This long-term opportunity, with an immediate start, offers a daily rate between £85 and £110, depending on experience and suitability.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a secondary pupil with complex needs.
* Implement personalised learning strategies outlined in the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
* Facilitate access to the secondary curriculum, adapting resources and activities as necessary.
* Foster the development of essential independence and life skills relevant to the pupil's EHCP targets.
* Monitor pupil progress and provide regular, clear feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
* Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment, effectively managing behaviours when required.
About You
* Previous experience supporting secondary-aged pupils with complex Special Educational Needs is essential.
* A strong understanding of various special educational needs and effective support strategies is required.
* You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building strong rapport with pupils and staff.
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to challenges is highly valued in our setting.
