At an ambitious school in West London, we are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our specialist provision, supporting secondary pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. This vital role involves assisting with emotional regulation, providing behaviour support, and facilitating the successful reintegration of pupils into their learning environment. We offer a variety of contract options, from daily supply and short-term placements to long-term and permanent opportunities, with an immediate start available for the right candidate, compensated by a competitive daily rate between £95 and £120.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide targeted support to secondary pupils with SEMH needs within a specialist provision.
* Implement effective strategies for positive behaviour management and de-escalation.
* Assist pupils in developing robust emotional regulation skills.
* Facilitate the successful reintegration of pupils into their learning and social activities.
* Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to create an inclusive environment.
* Monitor pupil progress and contribute to individualised support plans.
About You
* You possess a genuine passion for supporting young people with SEMH challenges.
* You have prior experience working with secondary-aged pupils in an SEN setting, particularly with SEMH needs.
* You demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building strong rapport with pupils and colleagues.
* You are resilient, patient, and able to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
* You are proactive and adaptable, committed to making a tangible difference in pupils' lives.
* You hold relevant qualifications or training in SEN support or behaviour management.
