A flourishing primary SEN school in Buckinghamshire is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide vital personalised assistance to a pupil with complex needs, which may include ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairment. This rewarding role offers an immediate start, with contract options spanning long-term, daily supply, or permanent positions, paying between £85 and £110 per day. You will play a pivotal part in fostering the pupil's development and engagement within a supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a primary pupil with complex special educational needs.
* Build strong, positive rapport with the pupil, fostering trust and engagement.
* Implement and monitor individualised Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets effectively.
* Collaborate closely with external therapists and professionals to ensure holistic support.
* Assist with personal care and mobility as required, maintaining dignity and respect.
* Contribute to creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment for the pupil.
About You
* You possess previous experience supporting children with complex SEN, such as ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairments.
* You demonstrate exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
* You are a confident and clear communicator, able to build effective relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
* You are proactive, adaptable, and capable of working independently to meet individual needs.
* You hold relevant qualifications or professional development in special educational needs support.
* You are deeply committed to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of all children.
