An inclusive school is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide essential assistance for a primary-aged pupil with complex needs, which may include Autism Spectrum Disorder, Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities, or sensory impairments. This pivotal role involves building a strong rapport with the pupil, meticulously implementing personalised learning strategies outlined in their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and actively liaising with external therapists to ensure a holistic approach to their development. We offer competitive daily rates ranging from £85 to £110, with opportunities for immediate starts on long-term, daily supply, or permanent contracts.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide consistent and dedicated 1:1 support tailored to the specific needs of a primary-aged pupil.
* Cultivate a positive and trusting relationship to foster the pupil’s engagement and well-being.
* Accurately implement targets and strategies as detailed within the pupil’s EHCP.
* Facilitate the pupil’s communication development and social interactions within the school environment.
* Collaborate effectively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external specialists to coordinate support.
* Encourage the pupil's active participation in classroom activities and the wider school community.
About You
* Possess significant experience supporting pupils with complex Special Educational Needs, such as ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairments.
* Demonstrate a genuine commitment to making a tangible positive impact on a child's educational journey.
* Exhibit exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, suitable for various stakeholders.
* Display characteristics of patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
* Show a proactive ability to integrate seamlessly into a supportive and collaborative team environment.
