SEN Teaching Assistant

A dynamic school in East London is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their vibrant primary setting, offering opportunities for long-term, daily supply, short-term, or permanent engagements starting as soon as possible. This challenging yet incredibly rewarding role involves providing essential 1:1 and small group support to primary pupils with complex learning needs, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and speech and language difficulties, with a competitive daily rate ranging from £90 to £115.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to primary pupils with diverse special educational needs.
* Implement individualised learning plans and strategies to meet EHCP objectives effectively.
* Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for children facing communication and learning challenges.
* Assist in adapting curriculum materials and activities to ensure accessibility and engagement for all pupils.
* Encourage pupil independence, confidence, and social-emotional development throughout the school day.
* Collaborate closely with teaching staff and therapists to monitor progress and adjust support strategies as needed.
About You
* Possess significant experience supporting primary-aged pupils with complex special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
* Demonstrate a proven ability to implement strategies that support the objectives outlined in Education, Health and Care Plans.
* Exhibit exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience when facing daily challenges in a specialist setting.
* Hold strong communication skills to engage effectively with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
* Are committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning experience for every child.
