1:1 SEN Support Assistant

A progressive school is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide crucial, individualised assistance to a primary-aged pupil. This essential role focuses on supporting a young learner with complex needs, which may include Autism Spectrum Disorder, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, or a sensory impairment. This pivotal position offers a daily rate of £85 - £110 and can be structured for long-term engagement, with opportunities for permanent placement, starting as soon as possible. You will play a vital part in nurturing their development within a supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide bespoke, one-to-one support tailored to the pupil's specific learning and developmental needs.
* Cultivate a strong, trusting rapport with the pupil to foster a safe and engaging learning environment.
* Successfully implement targets and strategies outlined within the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
* Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with therapists and other specialists involved in the pupil's care.
* Monitor and record the pupil's progress, adapting support as necessary to ensure continuous development.
* Assist the pupil with personal care needs and mobility, promoting independence where appropriate.
About You
* You possess demonstrable experience supporting children with complex Special Educational Needs, such as ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairments.
* An empathetic, patient, and understanding approach underpins your professional practice.
* You are adept at building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and external professionals.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are a hallmark of your capabilities.
* You are proactive, adaptable, and committed to making a tangible difference in a child's life.
* Relevant qualifications or extensive practical experience in a primary SEN setting are highly valued.
