About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant (SEN Specialist) to join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in High Wycombe. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to thrive in an engaging and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, ensuring they have full access to the curriculum.
  • Work closely with class teachers and SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies.
  • Assist with classroom activities, behavior management, and emotional support.
  • Adapt learning materials to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Support pupils in developing their confidence, independence, and communication skills.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all children.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCO.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or other learning needs.
  • A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting learning.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
