Permanent Placements
When we started working with teachers to find new roles, all we did was help them find permanent positions. Things have changed since then, but it is still a huge part of what we do. The task of finding the right vacancy, completing application forms and submitting CVs can feel like a full-time job in itself. Our excellent relationships with schools and MATs throughout the country means that we can help you find the perfect next permanent role, whether it is for the challenge of a new school or promotion.
Long Term Supply
Long-term supply allows you to work on an ongoing basis in one school. This can vary from a few weeks, a term, or even a full year. These roles can often be to cover sickness, parental leave or because an unexpected vacancy has arisen for other reasons. Long-term supply can often lead to the offer of a permanent role and allows you to experience teaching in a variety of settings, ensuring that you can see how each school operates, and make sure that if you do decide to take a permanent role the one you select is the right place for you.
Day2Day Supply
If you are looking for a role that gives you more of a work-life balance and mostly requires no planning - then supply teaching may be for you. It offers that flexibility so you can work around other commitments. It also affords you the opportunity to gain more experience in numerous settings and schools. Sometimes it is daunting accepting a permanent role right away - supply teaching allows you to get the feel for the school and can lead to a longer-term contract if that is what you are looking for. Through daily supply, you can ensure you are finding the perfect role for you.
Tutoring
Tutoring and Intervention roles enable you to work with much smaller groups or even on a 121 basis if you prefer providing that detailed, targeted learning, and is developed around student needs. This form of learning raises attainment and can get pupils back up to speed with the curriculum or certain exams such as SATs and GCSEs. If you enjoy knowing that your teaching is making an instant impact - intervention or tutoring may be the perfect fit for you.

Pay when employed directly by a school
When Dunbar Education help you to secure a permanent role with a school, your salary will be paid to you directly by the school itself. If you are a qualified teacher then you will either be paid on MPS, UPS or the Leadership scale. We most definitely do not take any cut of your salary, and while what you are offered ultimately comes down to the school, we are very happy to offer our guidance and support throughout.
Pay when employed via us on a Day2Day or Long Term Supply
If you are employed on either a Day2Day or Long Term assignment through Dunbar then you will be paid on a weekly basis. You will complete a digital timesheet each week, and as long as you do this and it is authorised by your school, you will then be paid the following Friday. To get paid on time, the most important thing is to ensure that you submit it to us by 5pm on the Monday after the week you worked at the very latest.
Our teachers and support staff can choose to either be paid on a PAYE basis or via an Umbrella company, and your consultant can provide you with more information on the two options.

Do you just recruit supply teachers?
Most definitely not. Just as many of the roles we recruit for are permanent positions within schools. Where we put you forward to a role and if you're successful then you are employed directly by the school, exactly as you would be if you had applied directly
Does an agency take a cut of my pay?As an agency we charge the school, so your pay is your pay. Regardless of whether you are paid directly by the school or through us as an agency, we will definitely not take any of your pay.
How do I register with Dunbar Education?Depending on the type of work you are looking for will determine the way in which you would register with us. It is a different process for permanent roles than it is for shorter term positions, but both methods can be carried out virtually. The best thing we can suggest is to give the team a call or submit your details and we can walk you through the process. It is also worth us mentioning, there is never a charge to register or look for work with Dunbar Education.
