Nursery Assistant - Early Years | Little Missenden, Buckinghamshire
Location: Little Missenden (near Great Missenden)
Contract Type: Fixed Term, Term Time Only
Hours: Mon-Fri, 8.30am-3.00pm (32.5 hrs/week)
Salary: Bucks Pay Scale 6-8 (£23,996 - £24,473 FTE, pro rata)
Start Date: As soon as possible

Are you an enthusiastic, caring individual with a passion for working with young children? We're recruiting on behalf of a friendly and inclusive primary school in Little Missenden for a Nursery Assistant to join their Early Years team, working with 3- and 4-year-olds.


About the Role

You'll help support a nurturing, creative, and engaging nursery environment, working closely with staff to deliver high-quality early years provision.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting play-based learning activities

  • Encouraging independence in daily routines

  • Ensuring children's wellbeing and safety

  • Liaising with parents and carers

  • Promoting positive behaviour

  • Helping maintain the nursery space


About You

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Childcare (or equivalent)

  • GCSEs in English & Maths (A-C)

  • Experience working with young children

  • Understanding of safeguarding

  • Good communication & IT skills

Desirable:

  • First Aid trained

  • Experience with SEN, speech & language

  • Familiarity with Early Years Framework

  • Experience supporting children with ASD or behaviour needs
