The Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide tailored support to children with severe learning difficulties and SEMH needs.
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and academic abilities.
- Contribute to creating a positive and enriching school experience for all learners.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual with:
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs and/or severe learning difficulties.
- A genuine passion for supporting the development of young learners.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to remain patient, empathetic, and adaptable in challenging situations.
- A willingness to work as part of a collaborative team.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Previous experience in an SEN school or similar environment.
- Knowledge of strategies to support children with SEMH and special educational needs.
