Role Overview

As the school's new Phonics Teacher, you'll be inspiring a love for reading and giving children essential literacy skills that will benefit them for years to come. Working with small groups, you'll deliver fun, engaging phonics sessions tailored to build confidence and phonemic awareness. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead dynamic, engaging phonics sessions in small groups, sparking excitement for reading and learning
  • Monitor student progress closely, adapting your approach to meet each child's unique needs
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to create a cohesive literacy program that reaches all levels
  • Cultivate a joyful, encouraging learning environment that makes phonics fun and accessible

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching phonics, with a strong understanding of early literacy principles
  • Familiarity with the Letters and Sounds phonics program (or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication skills and a warm, nurturing approach to teaching young learners
  • A creative, can-do attitude and a passion for making reading engaging and enjoyable
