Position: EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, UK
Salary: £16,813 - £17,685 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2024

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring they have the best possible start to their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the EYFS team to support the learning and development of children with SEN.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to children, adapting activities to meet their individual needs.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of personalised learning plans.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all pupils.
  • Monitor and record the progress of children, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support the social and emotional development of children with SEN.
  • Assist with personal care needs as required.
  • Collaborate with external professionals and agencies involved in the care of the children.
  • Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young children, particularly those with SEN, is essential.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education, NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and child development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.
