We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teacher to join a highly regarded school, offering specialist provision for primary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. This pivotal role involves creating a secure and nurturing learning environment where pupils can thrive academically and personally. You will be instrumental in building strong therapeutic relationships, effectively managing challenging behaviour, and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum. We offer a range of flexible contract options, including long-term, daily supply, and permanent positions, with an immediate start available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver an engaging, differentiated curriculum tailored to individual pupil needs.
* Implement effective behaviour management strategies to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
* Foster strong therapeutic relationships with pupils, promoting their emotional well-being and development.
* Assess pupil progress meticulously, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles.
* Collaborate closely with support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure holistic pupil support.
* Contribute actively to the wider school community, upholding its values and ethos.
About You
* You hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and possess a genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
* You have demonstrable experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within a specialist SEN setting or PRU.
* You exhibit strong behaviour management skills, coupled with a patient and empathetic approach.
* You are adept at building rapport and establishing positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
* You are committed to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
* You are adaptable, resilient, and thrive in a dynamic, supportive team environment.
