Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to primary pupils experiencing social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
* Implement effective de-escalation strategies to manage challenging behaviours constructively.
* Mentor pupils, guiding them in developing positive coping mechanisms and social skills.
* Cultivate strong, positive relationships with pupils, built on trust and mutual respect.
* Assist class teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning experiences.
* Monitor pupil progress and contribute to individualised support plans.
About You
* Possess a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs, particularly SEMH.
* Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with young pupils.
* Exhibit resilience, patience, and a calm demeanour in challenging situations.
* Have a proactive and empathetic approach to pupil support and development.
* Be adaptable to various classroom environments and individual pupil requirements.
* Hold relevant experience or qualifications in SEN support, especially SEMH.
