A progressive school in the vibrant Hertfordshire area is seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join its specialist primary team. This vital role involves providing tailored support to pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans, working both one-on-one and in small group settings. You will be instrumental in assisting children with a range of complex learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties, fostering their development and engagement. We offer a variety of contract options, from daily supply and short-term cover to long-term and permanent positions, with competitive daily rates between £90 and £115, starting as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support to pupils with diverse learning needs.
* Implement individualised learning plans and strategies outlined in EHCPs.
* Assist children presenting with conditions such as ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all pupils.
* Collaborate closely with the class teacher to support lesson delivery and pupil progress.
* Monitor and record pupil achievements, contributing to ongoing assessments and reviews.
About You
* Possess demonstrable experience supporting primary-aged children with special educational needs.
* Have a strong understanding of various complex learning difficulties, including ASD and ADHD.
* Show a commitment to the holistic development of pupils with communication challenges.
* Exhibit exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience in a dynamic educational setting.
* Be an effective communicator, able to work collaboratively with staff, pupils, and parents.
* Hold relevant qualifications or professional development in special educational needs support.
