We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ASD Support Assistant to join a highly regarded school, providing essential assistance to primary pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This vital role involves implementing structured routines, utilising effective sensory strategies, and offering communication support within a specialist ASD provision. We offer flexible contract options including Long Term, Daily Supply, Short Term, and Permanent positions, with a competitive daily rate ranging from £90 to £115, commencing as soon as possible. Key Responsibilities
* Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support to primary pupils on the autism spectrum.
* Implement structured learning environments and visual supports to aid pupil engagement and independence.
* Assist in the development and delivery of individualised sensory diets and strategies.
* Facilitate effective communication for pupils, utilising alternative methods such as PECS or Makaton where appropriate.
* Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes positive behaviour and social interaction.
* Collaborate closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to monitor pupil progress and adapt support plans.
About You
* You possess demonstrable experience supporting primary-aged children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
* A genuine passion for supporting pupils with special educational needs is evident in your approach.
* You exhibit excellent communication skills, enabling effective interaction with pupils, staff, and parents.
* The ability to adapt quickly and creatively to meet diverse individual learning and emotional needs is crucial.
