A well-established specialist primary school is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team immediately. This vital role involves supporting pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), working one-to-one and in small groups with children experiencing complex learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and speech and language difficulties. We are open to discussing various contract types, including long-term, daily supply, short-term, or permanent positions, offering a competitive daily rate ranging from £90 to £115.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to primary-aged pupils with complex SEN requirements.
* Implement individual learning plans and EHCP targets effectively under teacher guidance.
* Assist in adapting learning materials and classroom activities to meet diverse needs.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all pupils.
* Support pupils in developing their communication, social, and independence skills.
* Collaborate closely with class teachers and external professionals to monitor pupil progress.
About You
* You possess a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
* Previous experience working with primary-aged pupils with complex needs such as ASD, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties is essential.
* You demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building strong relationships with pupils and staff.
* A resilient and patient approach is characteristic of your professional demeanour.
* You are proactive, adaptable, and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support are highly desirable for this position.
