A flourishing primary school in Walsall, West Midlands, is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This specialist setting focuses on providing exceptional support for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). You will play a vital role in assisting children with a diverse range of complex learning needs, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and speech and language difficulties. The position involves working both 1:1 with individual pupils and facilitating small group activities to foster their academic and personal development. We welcome applications from candidates seeking long-term, short-term, daily supply, or permanent engagements. A competitive daily rate of £90 - £115 is offered, commensurate with experience. The school is looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Support pupils with EHCPs in their learning journey and daily school life.
* Work effectively on a 1:1 basis with identified children to meet specific targets.
* Facilitate small group interventions tailored to address individual learning needs.
* Assist with the implementation of bespoke education plans and behavioural support strategies.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all pupils.
* Collaborate closely with class teachers and other professionals to monitor pupil progress.
About You
* Possess a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
* Have previous experience working with primary-aged pupils with complex needs, such as ASD, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties.
* Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills when engaging with pupils and staff.
* Be patient, resilient, and adaptable to various learning situations and pupil requirements.
* Hold relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desirable).
* Be committed to continuous professional development within a specialist setting.
