We are seeking a dedicated ASD Support Assistant to join a inclusive school, commencing as soon as possible. This vital role involves providing specialist support to secondary students on the autism spectrum within a nurturing, specialist ASD setting. You will play a crucial part in facilitating social communication, effectively managing sensory needs, and ensuring students can fully access their curriculum. This opportunity offers flexible contracts including Long Term, Daily Supply, Short Term, and Permanent arrangements, with a competitive salary ranging from £90 to £115 per day.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated, individualised support to secondary students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
* Facilitate the development of effective social communication skills among students.
* Proactively identify and manage sensory needs to create an optimal learning environment.
* Support students in navigating and accessing the comprehensive secondary curriculum.
* Assist in the implementation of structured routines and predictable learning strategies.
* Collaborate closely with teachers and therapists to deliver integrated support plans.
About You
* Possess significant experience supporting young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder in an educational setting.
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of the specific challenges and strengths of secondary-aged students with ASD.
* Exhibit exceptional patience, empathy, and a genuinely positive approach.
* Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills when working with students, staff, and parents.
* Be highly adaptable, resourceful, and capable of responding effectively to diverse student needs.
