A dynamic school is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide tailored assistance to a secondary pupil with complex needs. This vital role involves supporting the pupil in accessing a broad curriculum, following specific Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets, and fostering crucial independence and life skills. Opportunities are available for immediate start on a long-term, daily supply, or permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver personalised 1:1 support to a secondary pupil with complex needs.
* Implement and monitor specific targets outlined in the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan.
* Facilitate the pupil's engagement with and access to the secondary curriculum.
* Actively promote the development of independence and essential life skills.
* Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and external professionals to ensure holistic support.
* Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment for the pupil.
About You
* You possess proven experience supporting pupils with special educational needs, particularly those with complex requirements.
* You have a strong understanding of the secondary phase curriculum and developmental stages.
* You are patient, resilient, and demonstrate exceptional empathy and understanding.
* You are adept at communicating effectively with pupils, staff, and parents.
* You have a working knowledge of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and their implementation.
* You are dedicated to promoting pupil progress and fostering a supportive learning environment.
