1:1 SEN Support Assistant

Are you ready to embrace a deeply rewarding challenge within a dynamic primary school? We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide crucial, personalised support to a primary pupil with complex needs, which may include Autism Spectrum Disorder, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, or sensory impairments. This demanding yet fulfilling position requires you to build strong rapport and meticulously implement Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets, working closely with therapists and school staff to foster significant progress.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a primary-aged pupil with identified complex special educational needs.
* Implement specific targets and strategies as outlined within the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan.
* Foster a positive, nurturing, and secure relationship with the pupil, promoting their engagement and well-being.
* Collaborate effectively with class teachers, specialist therapists, and other support professionals.
* Monitor and accurately record the pupil's progress and achievements, adapting support techniques as required.
* Support the pupil's full participation in daily routines and differentiated learning activities across the curriculum.
About You
* You possess proven experience supporting pupils with complex SEN, including ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairment.
* A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach is essential when navigating challenging situations.
* You demonstrate an exceptional ability to build strong, positive rapport with children.
* A comprehensive understanding of EHCPs and their practical implementation within a primary setting is crucial.
* You exhibit excellent communication skills for collaborating seamlessly
