A progressive school is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Class Teacher to join their specialist primary team immediately. This pivotal role involves teaching small groups of pupils, all with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), where you will skilfully adapt the national curriculum to meet diverse individual needs. You will work collaboratively with a supportive network of teaching assistants, therapists, and families, ensuring a holistic approach to pupil development and wellbeing. This position offers flexible contract options, including long-term, daily supply, short-term, or a permanent arrangement, providing an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the specific learning requirements of primary-aged pupils with SEN.
* Develop and meticulously implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) for all pupils with EHCPs.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes pupil confidence and growth.
* Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals.
* Regularly assess pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
* Maintain open and professional communication with parents and carers, providing updates and engaging them in their child's educational journey.
About You
* You possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and are eligible to work in the UK.
* Significant experience teaching primary-aged pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs is essential.
* A comprehensive understanding of various SEN conditions and a repertoire of effective pedagogical approaches are required.
* You demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
* Highly adaptable, you can modify teaching methods and resources to suit individual pupil requirements.
* You are committed to continuous professional development and keeping abreast of best practices in SEN education.
* This role is suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs), as well as experienced Main Pay Scale (MPS) and Upper Pay Scale (UPS) teachers.
