A respected school is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide tailored assistance to a secondary pupil with complex needs. This pivotal role involves diligently following Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets, facilitating access to the curriculum, and actively promoting the pupil's independence and crucial life skills. This opportunity offers flexible contract options, including long-term daily supply positions with the potential for permanent placement, commencing as soon as possible, with a daily rate ranging from £85 to £110.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide diligent, person-centred 1:1 support to a secondary pupil, adhering strictly to their individual EHCP objectives.
* Assist the pupil in accessing and engaging with a broad and balanced secondary curriculum across various subjects.
* Actively develop and implement strategies to enhance the pupil's independence and vital life skills.
* Accurately monitor and record the pupil's progress, providing clear and constructive feedback to relevant staff.
* Collaborate effectively with class teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive support system.
* Cultivate a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that encourages positive growth and self-belief.
About You
* Possess demonstrable experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with complex needs within a secondary setting.
* Exhibit a strong understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and their practical application in supporting individual pupils.
* Demonstrate exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience, coupled with a genuine passion for supporting young people's development.
* Communicate effectively and sensitively with pupils, staff, and parents, building strong, positive relationships.
* Show initiative and the ability to work independently, while also being a collaborative team player.
* Hold a steadfast commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.
