1:1 SEN Support Assistant

A dynamic school is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide crucial individualised assistance. This rewarding position involves delivering dedicated 1:1 support for a secondary pupil with complex needs. You will be instrumental in following Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets, ensuring the pupil can access the curriculum effectively. This role also focuses on promoting vital independence and developing essential life skills for the young person. We are open to discussions regarding contract types, including long-term, daily supply, or permanent arrangements, with an immediate start available. The daily rate for this impactful role ranges from £85 to £110.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide bespoke 1:1 support to a secondary pupil, adapting to their unique learning style.
* Diligently implement and monitor targets outlined in the pupil’s Education, Health and Care Plan.
* Facilitate the pupil's engagement with the secondary curriculum across various subjects.
* Actively encourage and nurture the development of the pupil’s personal independence.
* Support the acquisition and practice of practical and social life skills.
* Collaborate closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure holistic support.
About You
* You possess demonstrable experience supporting young people with complex Special Educational Needs.
* A strong understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) is essential.
* Your approach is characterised by exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience.
* You are an excellent communicator, capable of building rapport with pupils and colleagues alike.
* A genuine passion for fostering individual pupil progress and well-being drives your work.
