About the Role
A highly regarded school in South West London is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist provision. This vital role involves supporting secondary-aged pupils with complex needs, fostering an inclusive learning environment, and facilitating their access to an adapted curriculum. You will be instrumental in promoting independence and developing essential life skills, contributing significantly to pupil progress and well-being within a supportive educational setting.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to secondary-aged pupils with a range of complex special educational needs.
* Assist teachers in the delivery of a differentiated and adapted curriculum, both in class and during small group activities.
* Actively promote pupil independence and self-advocacy through targeted interventions and encouragement.
* Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies effectively to meet specific learning objectives.
* Foster a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment where every pupil feels valued and understood.
* Contribute to ongoing pupil assessments, recording progress and providing valuable feedback to teaching staff.

About You
* You possess demonstrable experience supporting secondary-aged pupils, ideally within an SEN context.
* You have a genuine passion for working with young people with complex needs, showing patience and empathy.
* You are skilled at adapting your approach to meet diverse learning styles and individual requirements.
* You can effectively engage pupils, building rapport and encouraging their active participation in learning.
* You are a proactive and reliable team player, committed to fostering a collaborative school community.
* You hold relevant qualifications or professional development in supporting pupils with special educational needs.
