About the Role
An inclusive school in the South East of England is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to join their nurturing team. This vital role involves providing tailored, individualised support to a secondary pupil with complex special educational needs, starting as soon as possible. You will be instrumental in enabling access to the curriculum, working towards EHCP targets, and fostering crucial life skills and independence. This position offers a competitive daily rate of £85 - £110, with opportunities for long-term engagement or permanent placement.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a secondary pupil with complex special educational needs.
* Implement strategies outlined in the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
* Facilitate the pupil's engagement with and access to the secondary curriculum.
* Promote the development of independence and essential life skills tailored to individual needs.
* Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic support.
* Monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to regular reviews and target setting.

About You
* You possess previous experience working with secondary-aged pupils with complex special educational needs.
* A deep understanding of EHCPs and their practical application in a school setting is essential.
* You demonstrate exceptional patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to support pupil development.
* Your communication skills are outstanding, fostering positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
* You are proactive, adaptable, and committed to promoting inclusive learning environments.
* Relevant qualifications in SEN support or teaching assistant roles are highly desirable.
