SEN Teaching Assistant

A progressive primary school is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive community. This vital role involves providing comprehensive support to pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), working both 1:1 and in small groups. You will play a crucial part in assisting children with complex learning needs, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and speech and language difficulties, fostering their development in a specialist environment. We are open to discussing various contract types, including long-term, short-term, daily supply, and permanent opportunities, with an immediate start available.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 support and small group interventions for primary pupils with EHCPs.
* Assist children with complex learning needs, including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
* Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued.
* Support classroom teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
* Monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to assessment and planning discussions.
* Facilitate the social and emotional development of pupils within the school community.
About You
* You possess a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
* Experience working with primary-aged pupils with EHCPs and complex learning needs is essential.
* A strong understanding of various learning difficulties, such as ASD, ADHD, and speech and language challenges, is highly valued.
* You are adept at building strong rapport with children and colleagues alike.
