SEN Teaching Assistant

Join a innovative school dedicated to nurturing young minds in the heart of the East Midlands as an SEN Teaching Assistant. This fulfilling role involves providing essential support to primary-aged pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), both individually and within small groups. You will work closely with children experiencing complex learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and speech and language difficulties, fostering their progress and well-being. We are seeking dedicated individuals for a variety of contract types, including long-term, daily supply, short-term, or even permanent positions, with competitive daily rates ranging from £90 to £115, starting as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to primary pupils with diverse special educational needs.
* Implement individualised learning plans and strategies outlined in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Assist in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all children.
* Support pupils with complex needs, including those with ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
* Foster the development of communication, social, and independent living skills.
* Collaborate effectively with class teachers and other specialists to monitor pupil progress.
About You
* You possess a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
* You bring prior experience working effectively with primary-aged pupils, ideally within an SEN setting.
* Familiarity with various complex learning needs, such as ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties, is essential.
* You demonstrate excellent communication skills, enabling positive interactions with children, staff, and parents.
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to daily challenges defines your professional character.
