About the Role:
We are seeking an exceptionally resilient, committed, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with special educational needs on a 1:1 basis within an alternative provision setting. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a challenging yet rewarding environment, remaining calm under pressure and able to quickly adapt to provide the necessary support for a young person with social, emotional, and mental health needs. Your role will be pivotal in helping the pupil access learning, develop independence, and achieve the specific outcomes outlined in their Education, Health and Care Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
• Build a strong, positive relationship with the pupil to promote trust, confidence, and inclusion.
• Support emotional regulation, behaviour management, and transitions throughout the school day.
• Assist in planning and delivering tailored learning activities both inside and outside the classroom.
• Encourage participation in lessons, extracurricular activities, and community-based learning.
• Monitor, record, and report on progress and wellbeing.
• Work closely with teachers and external professionals to support the pupil’s development.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.

About You:
• Highly resilient – able to remain calm, patient and consistent in challenging situations.
• Experienced working with children or young people with SEN and behavioural needs (essential).
• Confident supporting social, emotional, and mental health needs.
• A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Flexible, proactive, and able to think on their feet.
• Passionate about making a real difference in a child's life.
