This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated educator to inspire secondary students with a passion for scientific discovery on a long-term, permanent basis, with a start date available for September or sooner. The successful candidate will be pivotal in delivering high-quality Physics education, ideally with a specialism in Chemistry, and will be remunerated at a competitive rate paid to scale, welcoming applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs) through to more experienced professionals (MPS/UPS).
Key Responsibilities
* Design and deliver engaging and challenging Physics lessons across the secondary curriculum, incorporating a Chemistry specialism where appropriate.
* Cultivate a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking in science.
* Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to support their academic development.
* Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Science department to enhance curriculum delivery and resource sharing.
* Contribute to extracurricular science activities, enriching the overall educational experience for pupils.
* Maintain up-to-date subject knowledge, ensuring alignment with current educational best practices and curriculum requirements.
About You
* Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Physics or a related scientific discipline, ideally with a Chemistry specialism.
* Demonstrate a genuine passion for Physics and the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and enthusiastically to secondary students.
* Be a proactive and dedicated educator, committed to fostering academic excellence and personal growth in every pupil.
* Exhibit excellent classroom management skills, ensuring a productive and respectful learning atmosphere.
* Show a willingness to engage in continuous professional development and contribute positively to school life.
* Hold a strong understanding of current educational pedagogy and curriculum requirements for Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
