A thriving school in West London is actively seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to join their team, with an immediate start available. This pivotal role involves providing bespoke, one-to-one support for a primary phase pupil who has complex special educational needs, potentially including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, or sensory impairments. You will be instrumental in fostering a supportive learning environment and facilitating the pupil's progress. We offer flexible contract options, including long-term, daily supply, and permanent positions, with a competitive daily rate ranging from £85 to £110.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated one-to-one support tailored to the specific needs of a primary phase pupil.
* Build a strong, positive rapport with the pupil, fostering trust and engagement.
* Implement and monitor individualised Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets effectively.
* Collaborate closely with therapists and external professionals to integrate specialist strategies.
* Support the pupil's access to the curriculum, adapting materials as necessary.
* Encourage the development of communication, social, and independence skills.
About You
* You possess demonstrable experience supporting children with complex special educational needs, such as ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairments.
* Your approach is patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting pupil development.
* You are an excellent communicator, capable of effectively engaging with children, staff, and external professionals.
* You can work autonomously to implement support strategies whilst also being a collaborative team member.
* You hold relevant qualifications or professional development in supporting pupils with SEN.
* You are proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning and improvement.
