A dedicated school in South West London is seeking a compassionate and proactive PMLD Support Assistant to join their specialist provision for primary-aged pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties. This long-term, permanent opportunity, starting as soon as possible, offers a daily rate of £95 - £120 and a chance to make a significant impact on young lives through tailored support and engaging activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing dedicated 1:1 and small group support to primary pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).
* Assisting with personal care routines, ensuring dignity and comfort for all pupils.
* Facilitating engaging sensory stimulation activities to promote exploration and interaction.
* Collaborating with therapists to effectively implement individualised therapy programmes.
* Documenting pupil progress and contributions to support ongoing assessments.
* Fostering a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment at all times.
About You
* Possess demonstrable experience supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
* Exhibit a genuine passion for inclusive education and fostering pupil development.
* Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
* Be adept at adapting teaching approaches to meet diverse individual needs.
* Hold a relevant qualification in childcare, education, or SEN, or possess substantial experience.
* Show a proactive and resilient approach to challenges within a demanding yet rewarding environment.
