We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEMH Teacher to join a flourishing school community focused on primary-aged children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This vital role involves building strong therapeutic relationships with pupils, skilfully managing challenging behaviours, and delivering an engaging primary curriculum tailored to individual requirements. We are open to discussing various contract types, including long-term placements, daily supply, or permanent positions, offering flexibility to the right candidate who is ready to make an immediate positive impact.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver a creative and personalised primary curriculum to pupils with SEMH needs.
* Establish and nurture robust, therapeutic relationships with every child.
* Implement effective and positive behaviour management strategies consistently.
* Cultivate a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment for all pupils.
* Collaborate closely with support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure holistic provision.
* Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching methodologies to meet evolving needs.
About You
* You hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and are passionate about primary education.
* You possess demonstrable experience working with children who have SEMH requirements.
* You have a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice or similar therapeutic approaches.
* You are adept at inspiring and motivating children who may face significant barriers to learning.
* You exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive team dynamics.
* You approach challenges with patience, resilience, and unwavering compassion.
